Matt joined the firm in 2014 and works in the firm’s Land Use & Zoning practice group. He primarily focuses on securing zoning entitlements including rezonings, special permits, and special exceptions. Prior to joining the firm, Matt was a Presidential Management Fellow with the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, where he specialized in community and economic development policy.

Matt was recognized in 2014 as a HUD Secretary’s Award Finalist.

  • Approval of 950 S. George Mason Drive with a 6-story, 365-unit mixed-use residential building featuring a 50,000 sf grocery store, 31,120 sf of in-line retail, and a new public square, pursuant to the Columbia Pike Commercial Centers Form Based Code (Columbia Pike, Arlington)
  • Approval of 1010 South Frederick Street with an 8-story, 229-unit, 100% committed affordable infill development featuring Earthcraft Platinum construction, pursuant to the Columbia Pike Neighborhoods Form Based Code (Columbia Pike, Arlington County)
  • Approval of 672 North Glebe Road with a 6-story, 173-unit mixed-use building featuring LEED Silver construction and ground floor retail (Ballston, Arlington County)
  • Approval of 1300 South Rolfe Street with a 73-unit townhouse and stacked condominium development featuring a new public mini-park, pursuant to the Columbia Pike Neighborhoods Form Based Code (Columbia Pike, Arlington)
  • Approval of 3507 Columbia Pike with a 6-story, 173-unit mixed-use building featuring Earthcraft Platinum construction and ground floor retail and civic uses, pursuant to the Columbia Pike Commercial Centers Form Based Code (Columbia Pike, Arlington)
  • Approval of 1318 Rockland Terrace with a four-home cluster subdivision (McLean, Fairfax County)
  • Monitoring of Zoning Ordinance and comprehensive land use planning amendments in various jurisdictions across northern Virginia
  • Filed and negotiated approval of numerous special exception amendments in multiple jurisdictions
