Matt joined the firm in 2014 and works in the firm’s Land Use & Zoning practice group. He primarily focuses on securing zoning entitlements including rezonings, special permits, and special exceptions. Prior to joining the firm, Matt was a Presidential Management Fellow with the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, where he specialized in community and economic development policy.

Matt was recognized in 2014 as a HUD Secretary’s Award Finalist.

  • Approval of 1850 Columbia Pike with a 3-building residential infill development featuring 401 multifamily units, structured parking, a public mini-park, new public streets, environmental mitigation measures, and onsite committed affordable units (Columbia Pike, Arlington County)
  • Approval of 2400 Columbia Pike with a 6-story, 105-unit mixed-use residential building featuring 14,700 sf of ground-floor retail and preservation of historic retail façades (Columbia Pike, Arlington County)
  • Approval of 48,000 sf commercial development featuring in-line retail and a new grocery store (Chantilly, Fairfax County)
  • Approval of 950 S. George Mason Drive with a 6-story, 365-unit mixed-use residential building featuring a 50,000 sf grocery store, 31,120 sf of in-line retail, and a new public square (Columbia Pike, Arlington County)
  • Approval of 1010 South Frederick Street with an 8-story, 229-unit, 100% committed affordable infill development featuring Earthcraft Platinum construction (Columbia Pike, Arlington County)

  • Approval of 3507 Columbia Pike with a 6-story, 173-unit mixed-use building featuring Earthcraft Platinum construction, onsite committed affordable units, and ground floor retail and civic uses (Columbia Pike, Arlington County)
  • Approval of 1318 Rockland Terrace with a four-home cluster subdivision (McLean, Fairfax County)
  • Monitoring of Zoning Ordinance and comprehensive land use planning amendments in various jurisdictions across northern Virginia
