A native of Reston, Michael joined Walsh Colucci in 2004 and primarily focuses on managing the legislative approval process for clients seeking rezonings, special exceptions, zoning modifications, and other land use approvals. Michael has gained extensive experience through his work in Loudoun County and the Town of Leesburg and has been involved in several projects in other Northern Virginia municipalities. In addition to providing project management experience, Michael has a thorough understanding of local zoning ordinance, comprehensive plan, subdivision and site plan standards as well as significant experience in drafting proffer statements, zoning determination request letters, statements of justification, and various other land use documents.

Represented a volunteer fire department for a rezoning and special exception that enabled the replacement of an outdated facility with a larger state-of-the-art facility in Loudoun County
Represented a national hotel brand for a rezoning, amendment, special exception, and modification of a 2-acre infill property to accommodate a 126-room hotel in Loudoun County
Represented a furniture company for the rezoning of a split-zoned parcel to accommodate a furniture store in the Town of Leesburg
Represented a national homebuilder for a transit station area rezoning to accommodate a 496-unit multi-family project in Loudoun County
Represented a national fitness corporation for a zoning ordinance text amendment and special use permit to permit a child care center in the City of Fairfax
Represented a long-time landowner for a 49-acre rezoning to accommodate a mix of 219 single-family detached, single-family attached, and multifamily dwelling units, including a separate 4-acre special exception to accommodate a 70,000 square foot continuing care facility in Loudoun County
